Introduction

The strongest argument that the Fort Worth office-floor debris fits a radar target is not based on disputed memo readings or later recollections. Did the Floor Debris Fit a Radar Target?

The key question is not whether the debris looks like a complete radar reflector. It clearly does not. The question is whether it looks like the remains of a reflector that has collapsed, torn apart and been gathered up after impact.

The evidence points in that direction.

The 1994 Air Force investigation identified the material displayed in Fort Worth as consistent with a radar target normally suspended beneath balloons. The report specifically noted that newspaper descriptions of the debris referred to “tinfoil, paper, tape, and sticks”, exactly the kinds of materials used in radar-target construction. What Is Visible in the Fort Worth Photos?

The photographs are significant because they provide a direct visual record rather than a later memory.

J. Bond Johnson, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram photographer who took the images, later described what he photographed as “crumpled tinfoil, broken sticks and ragged rubber”. How Foil, Sticks and Paper Compare with Reflector Construction

The comparison becomes more persuasive when the debris is matched against documented radar-target designs from the period.

The ML-307/AP radar target assembly used reflective foil-like surfaces mounted on lightweight balsa-wood frames. Construction specifications included:

The Air Force report’s physical examination of an example radar target found materials described as aluminium-coloured foil attached to paper-like backing and supported by balsa wood. Why This Matters More Than Blurred Memo Readings

The Ramey memo attracts attention because it appears to offer a hidden written message. Yet the memo remains partially obscured, photographed at an angle and subject to competing interpretations.
