Does the Fort Worth debris match the ranch find?

Introduction

The continuity problem sits at the centre of the Roswell debate: was the debris photographed in Brigadier General Roger Ramey’s Fort Worth office the same material that rancher W. W. “Mac” Brazel found in New Mexico and that Major Jesse Marcel helped recover, or was it a substitute? The answer matters because many later claims about a cover-up depend on a break in the chain of custody between the ranch and the press photographs. If the Fort Worth debris is substantially the same material recovered from the ranch, then the photographs become evidence against later extraordinary claims. To preserve the claim that something extraordinary was recovered, it became necessary to argue that the photographed material was different from the original ranch material.
